Book nook details

The scene reads like the poet's memoirs. In the Snow Hall pavilion, a small figure in a white robe stands where Su Dongpo wrote during his years in Huangzhou. Below, two robed figures cross an arched bridge over the waterfall, between willows and a red-blossomed tree. At the very bottom, a wooden boat drifts past the Red Cliffs, a red lantern at its bow and a crane at the poet's side, the trip that inspired some of his most famous lines. A page of his calligraphy hangs against the night sky, next to the full moon of his Mid-Autumn poem. Even the side panels tell the story, printed with an ink-drawn map of his travels.
