The shop window is set up like a real display: paper fans opened on small wooden stands, kokeshi dolls in kimono and woven bags waiting for customers. Outside, a rack of prints and postcards leans against the storefront, under a tall cloth banner that marks the entrance. A potted plant and a few flowers soften the stone-paved front. The recommended age is simply a guideline, many children ages 6 to 8 have successfully built their book nooks and miniature dollhouses on their own, simply by following the instructions provided in the boxes. If your child is used to building with Legos, they'll manage without too much difficulty.
