The Magic Platform book nook recreates a wizard train station, inspired by Platform 9¾ from the Harry Potter universe. Under a roof shaped like a witch's hat, a locomotive rolls out of a mirrored tunnel that makes the tracks look endless. The two platforms slide out to the sides to widen the scene.

This difficult 427-piece build is made for people who have built 3D puzzles before. It makes a good gift for a Harry Potter fan, teen or adult.

Who is the Magic Platform made for?

Harry Potter fans will enjoy this one, and so will anyone who likes old train stations and steam locomotives.

It's a difficult build: 427 pieces, thin stained-glass panels, a mirrored tunnel and two sliding platforms to adjust. It's made for people who are comfortable with assembly kits. A younger builder can work on it with an adult, over several evenings.

Once built, it stands at the end of a row of books with its open side facing you, or by itself on a piece of furniture. Its purple, brick and gold tones go well with old leather-bound books.

In the evening, leave only the clock on, and it doubles as a night light.

Included Components

This book nook kit includes pre-cut, pre-printed wood sheets, the printed stained-glass sheets, the tunnel mirror, the illustrated manual, the LED module with its wiring and battery box, and a sheet of sandpaper.

Glue-free assembly: the pieces slot together. You don't need glue, though a little can help hold a few pieces in place.

LED lighting: a touch button on the base lights the scene in three steps. By default, only the clock is on. One tap adds the tower lights, a second turns everything on, and a third turns it all off. The book nook runs on three AA batteries, or plugs in through the USB-C port on the back.

Sliding platforms: both sides of the platform pull outward to widen the scene, and push back in to store it.

Detachable train: a small lever releases the locomotive, so you can take it off the platform and set it back on its tracks.

Your DIY Book nook Kit includes everything you need to get started: a detailed instruction guide, cutting tools, crafting papers, solid plywood sheets, and LED lights. Due to shipping restrictions, we can't include glue and batteries with your order.

Can I get replacement pieces if something breaks or is missing?

If you have a missing or broken piece, you can contact us and we'll send you a replacement.
Please note that the replacement process may take some time since we're not a large company and we need to individually manufacture missing pieces, which can take a few weeks. But our team will be there to provide you with all the necessary information via email.

Is it too complicated for younger children to assemble?

The recommended age is simply a guideline, many children ages 6 to 8 have successfully built their book nooks and miniature dollhouses on their own, simply by following the instructions provided in the boxes. If your child is used to building with Legos, they'll manage without too much difficulty.

Are the book nook pieces dangerous for my child?

Our book nooks are made of wood, which is completely safe for children and adults. They are certified to safety standards and are free of high-concern chemicals.

Do I need additional tools to assemble my miniature book nook?

No, you have all the necessary tools to assemble your book nook without difficulty. However, batteries are not included due to customs and shipping reasons. Check the specifications section to see what batteries your book nook requires.
