Included Components

This book nook kit comes with the pre-cut, pre-printed wooden pieces, the illustrated manual and the LED lighting kit.

Glue-free assembly: the pieces slot together. You don't need glue, though a little can help hold a few pieces in place.

Two kinds of light: a light strip runs along the top of the case, and two rows of small lights along the floor light the aisle from below. That's what makes the light seem to fall from a skylight.

Carved cross: the cross on top of the front is a separate wooden piece, cut out and mounted last.

Miniature accessories: the pews, the candles, the flower bunches and the columns are all included.

Book nook details

Inside, you look down the nave of a chapel. On each side, a pointed stained-glass window shows an angel: one holds a cross, the other reads an open book. Under each window, a row of white candles stands on its wooden holder. Wooden pews face the altar, with open books left on them. Bunches of white flowers sit on fluted columns on both sides of the center aisle. The floor is a checkerboard of light and beige tiles. Small lights run along the top of the case and along the floor on both sides.

The recommended age is simply a guideline, many children ages 6 to 8 have successfully built their book nooks and miniature dollhouses on their own, simply by following the instructions provided in the boxes. If your child is used to building with Legos, they'll manage without too much difficulty.
