This book nook has you build two decors in one. Street side, you assemble the facade of the Kowloon Walled City: packed buildings linked by cables and laundry strung between balconies. The district really existed: in the 1980s, it was the only place in Hong Kong beyond British law, an enclave of gangs and trades, demolished since. That's the city the film Twilight of the Warriors brought back to the screen, and that this kit recreates in miniature. Dentist signs and little restaurant boards stack above the alley, where a motorbike is parked by the crates. On the rooftops, a kite floats before the Hong Kong hills. Salon side, two red leather barber chairs face the mirrors on a tiled floor. On the wall, a clock and fashion posters recall the 80s, and little bottles wait for customers on the shelves.

Your DIY Book nook Kit includes everything you need to get started: a detailed instruction guide, cutting tools, crafting papers, solid plywood sheets, and LED lights. Due to shipping restrictions, we can't include glue and batteries with your order.

Can I get replacement pieces if something breaks or is missing?

If you have a missing or broken piece, you can contact us and we'll send you a replacement.

Is it too complicated for younger children to assemble?

The recommended age is simply a guideline, many children ages 6 to 8 have successfully built their book nooks and miniature dollhouses on their own, simply by following the instructions provided in the boxes. If your child is used to building with Legos, they'll manage without too much difficulty.
