This Astronomy Museum book nook kit includes 204 pre-cut, pre-painted wooden pieces, an LED light strand and an illustrated, step-by-step manual. A sanding stick comes with it, to smooth any piece that fits too tight.

No glue is needed, the pieces slot together. The built-in LEDs run on a touch switch, so one tap lights the whole hall. Both side panels are printed like the covers of an antique book, each one carrying its own engraved celestial dial.

Book nook details

Behind the arch, the hall rises over two floors. Tall shelves are packed with worn books, and a gallery with a turned balustrade runs across the upper level. On the wall, a large chart shows a ringed planet drawn on aged parchment, framed in gold over damask wallpaper. Open plates lie on the reading desks below, covered in engravings of comets and instruments.
