Inspired by Prague's astronomical clock, the Clock Tower book nook shows the inside of a clock tower. In the middle, a big colorful dial lights up as doves fly around it. The back is painted like the tower's facade, with its blue dial and angel.

This difficult 430-piece build includes a small elevator to assemble, so it suits people who already enjoy 3D puzzles. It makes a great gift for anyone who loves gears and old clocks.

Included Components

This book nook kit includes sheets of pre-cut, pre-printed wood pieces, the printed stained-glass sheet, the decorative papers, the small metal parts, the illustrated manual, the LED module with its wiring and battery box, a small screwdriver, sandpaper and the clear dust cover that protects the scene.

Glue-free assembly: the pieces slot together. You don't need glue, though a little can help hold a few pieces in place.

LED lighting: a touch switch on the side turns the scene on. A sensor at the bottom of the front also turns it on by itself when someone walks by.

Elevator: turn the gear on the side of the book nook, and the small cabin rides up and down the ladder.

Two faces: the back of the book nook is painted like the tower's facade, with the astronomical dial, the angel and the calendar dial. You can display it either way.

Three levels are linked by a metal ladder. Turn a gear on the side, and a small elevator rides up and down along it. At the very top sits a reading room with two stained-glass windows, a shelf of books and a black-and-white cat. Under the dial, a cat sitting in a small arch watches the doves, next to a lectern with an open book and a green lamp. At the bottom, the machine's big cogwheels fill the space between the pipes. A dove perches on papers and crates. The base holds a gold gear set with a white pearl, which hides the motion sensor.

Is it too complicated for younger children to assemble?

The recommended age is simply a guideline, many children ages 6 to 8 have successfully built their book nooks and miniature dollhouses on their own, simply by following the instructions provided in the boxes. If your child is used to building with Legos, they'll manage without too much difficulty.

Our book nooks are made of wood, which is completely safe for children and adults. They are certified to safety standards and are free of high-concern chemicals.

Do I need additional tools to assemble my miniature book nook?

No, you have all the necessary tools to assemble your book nook without difficulty. However, batteries are not included due to customs and shipping reasons. Check the specifications section to see what batteries your book nook requires.
