This is a difficult 400-piece build for people who are comfortable with assembly kits. It's a great gift for anyone who collects miniature houses.

Glue-free assembly: the pieces slot together. You don't need glue, though a little can help hold a few pieces in place.

Open building on four levels: every room stays visible at the same time, from the café at the bottom to the bedroom at the top. The castle sits on a piece of furniture; it doesn't slide into a bookshelf.

LED lighting: each level gets its own light, so the castle looks lived-in on a winter evening.

Miniature accessories: the bed, the violin, the phonograph, the golden lantern, the grand piano and the china cabinet come with the kit.

Your DIY Book nook Kit includes everything you need to get started: a detailed instruction guide, cutting tools, crafting papers, solid plywood sheets, and LED lights. Due to shipping restrictions, we can't include glue and batteries with your order.

The recommended age is simply a guideline, many children ages 6 to 8 have successfully built their book nooks and miniature dollhouses on their own, simply by following the instructions provided in the boxes. If your child is used to building with Legos, they'll manage without too much difficulty.
