The Hoggor Bookstore book nook recreates the storefront of an old bookshop, with two bowed display windows and brick walls. The whole shop opens down the middle like a book to show the entire sales floor. In the center, a wooden door with a small arched window stands ajar.

This is an intermediate build you can finish over a few evenings. It's a safe gift choice for anyone who loves books and old bookshops.

It's an intermediate build: a beginner can handle it, but the 230 pieces and the dozens of tiny books to place take some patience. Plan on four to six hours, solo or with a friend.

Its mahogany, brick and gold tones go well with a dark wood bookcase. Closed, it takes up about as much shelf space as a thick dictionary.

In the evening, the touch sensor turns on the display windows, and it doubles as a night light on a desk.

Glue-free assembly: the pieces slot together. You don't need glue, though a little can help hold a few pieces in place.

Opening shop: the two wings of the facade swing outward. Closed, it's a storefront on the street. Open, it shows the whole sales floor.

LED lighting: a touch sensor turns on the light. It comes from the ceiling and the display windows, and brings out the colored spines of the books.

Miniature accessories: the ladder, the phonograph, the grandfather clock, the chess set and the store hours board are all in the box.

The recommended age is simply a guideline, many children ages 6 to 8 have successfully built their book nooks and miniature dollhouses on their own, simply by following the instructions provided in the boxes. If your child is used to building with Legos, they'll manage without too much difficulty.

Our book nooks are made of wood, which is completely safe for children and adults. They are certified to safety standards and are free of high-concern chemicals.

Do I need additional tools to assemble my miniature book nook?
