Painted midnight blue, the box has two small-paned doors that open onto an interior that looks nothing like the outside. In the center, a glass column rises from floor to ceiling and gives off a blue light. All around it, a circular console is covered with levers, dials and switches, and a figure in a suit watches over it. The ceiling has a ring of lit discs, like turning portholes. At the back, a wall opens onto a starry sky, and the openwork metal staircase leads down to the platform. The "Mysterious Blue Box" sign runs above the doors.
